A cigar that once belonged to Sir Winston Churchill sold for just over $3,000 at a Christie’s auction in London. It was part of an auction in London in which more than £577,000. The items sold were from the private collection of Malcolm S. Forbes, Jr.

Christie’s describes the lot:

[CHURCHILL, Winston S.]. A havana cigar by Camacho, 165mm x 18mm (diameter), unsmoked, in a box inscribed ‘Hotel de Paris — Churchill Cigar. Dinner — April ’63′. Provenance: ‘Sir Winston Churchill … gave me this cigar at Luncheon — Hotel de Paris [Monte Carlo] 12th April ’63 — Christofor Dunn (?)’ (accompanying note).
