Can you believe it’s been 15 years since Rocky Patel entered the cigar industry? He is now one of the most recognized faces in the business and this weekend there was lots of good fun with Rocky Patel and the boys over at the Corona Cigar Company.
Friday night was the 15th Anniversary cigar event kick off at Corona’s downtown Orlando location where Rock Patel and the Jack Daniels girls were hanging out, smoking cigars and starting the weekend off right. From 5pm until midnight people got a chance to speak to Rocky and smoke the new 15th anniversary cigars with tons of great deals but that was just the beginning.
Saturday the event started at 2pm at Corona’s Dr. Phillips location. The Corona boys were out keeping up the event tradition of cooking up some great food including their legendary turkey legs on the grill. Of course I had to go and sample those turkey legs as well as take some time to try one of those new cigars by Rocky.
After making my way though a turkey leg I decided to toast one the new 15th anniversary cigars and talk to Rocky for a minute. The new cigar features a Habano-seed Ecuadorian wrapper and Nicaraguan binder and filler (all from Rocky’s own farm), the 15th Anniversary is a medium bodied experience. From start to finish, the cigar is a roller coaster ride of earthy chocolate tones with subtle spice. Even the finish is reminiscent of Cabernet wine with nuances of cedar.
I really enjoyed the new cigar and while speaking to Rocky he told me a little bit about the cigars construction and I had to ask how he compared this cigar to any of the other lines he has put out and his response to me was “I think this is the best cigar I’ve ever produced”. So there you have it! Go out and toast a Rocky Patel 15th anniversary for yourself. Its a great smoke with the usual great price point Rocky is known for. I’d like to thank Rocky for taking the time to speak with me and The Corona cigar family for hosting another wonderful event.
