Ever have a cigar while watching the sun set? Well, there’s a new cigar happy hour that’s designed for just that: Barry, from acigarsmoker.com, introduced me to Cigar Mondays at Vetro NYC.
It sounds wonderful – you get a premium cigar, butler served hors d’ouevres and your choice of a cognac, port, single malt or cocktail. You get all of that with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin tunes playing to a backdrop of the Jamaica bay.
According to Barry, “rooftops lounges have been popping up, some of which are cigar friendly and I think I have stumbled across one of the best.” Coming from him, I know it’s definitely worthwhile to swing on by for a relaxing visit.
Barry says if you get a chance to go to the lounge, tell them that he sent you and to look for a Joe Pesci lookalike (also named Joe). I can’t think of a better way to spend a Monday evening.
Vetro Restaurant & Lounge is located at 164-49 Cross Bay Blvd in Howard Beach, Queens, NY.
