Barry writes:

Davidoff had a cigar tasting yesterday that featured Henke Kelner. Also in attendance was the beautiful Danielle Hawthorne who is the brand manager for Zino. Henke was able to pull the crowd into the palm of his hand as he broke down how the tongue is sectioned off. The tip picks up sweetness while the two sides pick up salt. The back center identifies bitter and the rear left and rear right gets acid.

We smoked three puro blends each with Ecuadorian Connecticut wrappers. The first was Dominican Olar, the second San Vincente and the final a piloto. We were able to pick up the category of notes bases upon the heightened senses they gave us on our tongue,

The three cigars made up the blend of the Davidoff Grand Cru. What set the Henke seminar part is that we also smoked the Grand Cru with a Indonesian wrapper and then the Yamasa wrapper that is used in the Puro d’Oro. The change was incredible which shows just how much wrapper effects a cigar.
