Here’s another example of the quickly evolving and adaptive cigar culture in the UK: Dukes, St James’s, the boutique hotel located close to Green Park in London, has just launched its Cognac and Cigar Garden. The garden is a newly refurbished outdoor area that perfectly accommodates the luxurious pairing of cognac and cigars.

General Manager of Dukes, Debrah Dhugga said, “The inspiration for the garden came from our guests asking for an area where they could enjoy a cigar and nightcap whilst continuing to socialize in comfort and style.

Great job listening to your customers, Debrah!

“The Cognac and Cigar Garden is an example of how Dukes upholds tradition, but in a way that is welcoming and appealing to all our guests,” says Debrah.

The garden is big enough for 20 guests. With an outstanding setting, i.e. new furnishings, seating, lantern lighting and decking, this garden seems like a perfect spot for an afternoon (or evening) drink and smoke. The handmade wooden brandy cabinet, which is conveniently fitted into the corner of the garden, displays the hotel’s full range of cognacs.  Duke’s preferred house cognac is Martell Cordon Bleu.

And of course, the cigars are supplied by Hunters and Frankau, the UK’s official and only importer and distributor of Cuban cigars.
